April Activities At Home

Body Double Mirror Activity

How to Play

  • Choose a "leader" (you or your child) and a "mirror."

  • The leader will strike a pose (e.g., arms up, one foot out, squat down, touch nose with opposite hand).

  • The mirror must copy the pose exactly, like a reflection.

  • Switch roles after a few rounds.

  • Add silly moves or themed poses (robot, animal, superhero, etc.) to make it fun!

Ways to increase the challenge

  • Add a sequence of 2–3 moves to copy in order.

  • Use non-dominant side only (e.g., “mirror only with your left side!”).

  • Add a balance component like standing on one foot during the poses.

  • Play with a timer or music freeze.

Ways to decrease the challenge

  • Focus on one movement at a time and give more time to copy (e.g., put one arm above head first, once that’s mastered touch your nose with the other hand).

  • Use touch input for additional feedback.
